Plain-English Privacy Rules. Updated October 17, 2026.

How I Protect Your Privacy and Your Company Files.

I am JC Burrows. I run both jcburrows.com and ZoomReferral (zoomreferral.com). This page explains in plain English how I protect your contact details and your business records.

1. Who I Am and What Sites I Run.

My name is JC Burrows (jcburrows.com). I also run ZoomReferral (zoomreferral.com). If you reply to an email from me or fill out a quiz on either site, these same strict privacy rules protect you. I never sell your email address or phone number to marketers.

2. Zero File Uploads When You Take My Quiz.

You never upload any raw company files on my websites. My 60-second quiz and value tools only ask for basic facts about your business:

  • Your name, work email, job title, and company website.
  • Whether your business is still open or has shut down.
  • Your country, your team size, and how many years you have used your software.
  • Which software apps you use (like ServiceTitan, Procore, Slack, or QuickBooks) and a rough guess of how much data you have.

3. How I Protect Your Company Name and Customer Privacy.

When I help you sell copies of your old software records to AI labs for $100,000 to $2,000,000+, I follow three strict safety steps:

  • Step 1 (Private Name Lock): Only I and one senior safety officer at my partner desk ever see your company name. AI buyers never know which business the files came from.
  • Step 2 (Two-Way NDA First): Before you share even a tiny 1% sample of your files, both sides sign a two-way Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA).
  • Step 3 (Free Privacy Cleaning): An independent security team scrubs out all customer names, staff names, phone numbers, emails, street addresses, tax IDs, and bank numbers before any AI lab gets the files. The buyer pays 100% of this cleaning cost. You pay $0.

4. My Three Data Piles Rule.

In all my data brokering and consulting work, I sort information into three simple piles:

  • Green Pile (Public Facts): General industry rates and public price ranges that are safe for anyone to see.
  • Amber Pile (Cleaned Work Files): Past job tickets, chats, and estimates after all names and private details have been removed under a signed NDA.
  • Red Pile (Private Secrets): Real customer names, medical notes, passwords, bank logins, and private trade secrets. These stay locked inside your business and are never sold.

5. Email Opt-Out and Your Privacy Rights (CAN-SPAM & CCPA).

I work with businesses in the United States and approved Western countries. You are always in control of your information. Every email I send includes a one-click unsubscribe link. You can also email me directly at [email protected] at any time to see, update, or erase your contact details from my records.
